Nutrition and wellness counseling
I help women find the root cause of their imbalances. Most nutrition related symptoms are related to:
Blood Sugar Management, Insulin Resistance
Inflammation
Gut Health
Hormone Imbalances
We approach imbalances with balanced nutrition to balance blood sugars, enjoyable movement, good sleep habits, stress reduction, targeted supplements and testing if needed. Each of these components of health are intertwined and have important impacts on metabolism, hormones and reproductive health. It is important to address all elements in order to feel your best. Coaching packages include one-on-one sessions and meal planning.
Lactation Consults
I have over 15 years of experience counseling parents and supporting them in their lactation goals. I help parents with:
Babies that are unable to latch
Painful feeding
Milk supply issues
Suspected oral ties
Supected food allergies, intolerances or sensitivities
My dual credentials as an I.B.C.L.C. and Registered Dietitian gives me a deeper understanding of how nutrition and hormones can impact milk supply. In addition to understanding oral function and the mechanical aspects of latch, I can assess your diet and lab values for any patterns that might impact milk supply. I can provide customized meal plans for suspected food allergies and intolerances. As a registered dietitian, it is within my expertise to recommend changes or supplements to support lactation.
Prenatal lactation and nutrition classes
I am so passionate about teaching prenatal nutrition. This is the most important time of life to nourish yourself. Nourishing well during this time can reduce pregnancy complications and impact your baby’s lifelong brain health.
Lactation classes during pregnancy will teach you what to expect in the early days, normal newborn behaviors relative to feedings and how to build a good milk supply. A class can give you confidence about lactation and help you meet your nursing goals.
Fertility Nutrition
Nutrition and lifestyle have a significant impact on hormonal and reproductive health. Research tells us that couples that receive nutrition counseling and make healthy lifestyle changes are more likely to conceive and have a healthy baby. Nutrition and lifestyle coaching during the preconception period can help balance hormones and improve both egg and sperm quality.
